Schools Out For The One Point

It's not every day you get to celebrate with the stars and, on Saturday July 24th it was no different as The One Point teamed up with The Freedom Centre as official media and marketing partners to deliver the Hull Summer Concert 2010.

The unique community concert, which was held at The Freedom Centre, featured great tribute acts from the past 3 decades including Take That, Jon Bon Jovi, Shang-a-lang and Lady GaGa.

Its the start of our vision for expansion

Two Hull entrepreneurs whose businesses offer complementary IT, communications and infrastructure services have joined forced in a bid to expand their reach.

Iain Bland, managing director of Paragon Data Services (PDS) and Martin Lauer, group managing director of The One Point Group, are opening a shared office in the heart of Manchester's business district.The two businessmen say they believe the phenomenal growth they have each achieved in Hull can be mirrored in Manchester. The move comes after the two companies successfully combined efforts to fit out the new $1 million Nightel Hotel, in a partnership worth more then £250,000.

THE ONE POINT BACK BIZ WEEK WITH SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL

The One Point Group Back Biz Week on Biz Ed Day with South Hunsley School The Humber Economic Partnership held a ‘BizEd' Day at the Country Park Hotel, Hessle last week. The object of the day was to get secondary schools working together and competing for their business idea to win a trip for their team to The O2 in London.

The day was attended by over 20 schools from North and South of the Humber and was a roaring success. The day started with an entertaining ‘life story' from Paul Sewell from the Sewell Group. He explained about how he got where he has got to in business and put it down to hard graft and belief.

THE ONE POINT GET NORTH FERRIBY PRIMARY SCHOOL THINKING ABOUT ENTERPRISE

The One Point Get North Ferriby Primary School Thinking About Enterprise The One Point group have pledged their support to the Hull Ready, Youth Enterprise Scheme called ‘Make £5 Blossom'.

The initiative run by Hull City Council sees Primary Schools becoming sponsored by a businesses in order to get pupils thinking and running their very own business within the school.

Martin Lauer, Group MD of The One Point said; "When I was asked to give my sponsorship backing and time to the scheme and North Ferriby Primary School I felt that it was a ‘no brainer'. The more we can do to motivate entrepreneurialism at a young age the better. It is these pupils that will be paying the pensions of the future. I have been amazed at the brilliant ideas they have come up with and the amount of market research they are willing to do...

OFFICE REFURBISHMENT FINALLY COMPLETE

The One Point Office refurbishment has finally been completed following the devastating flood which occurred before Christmas last year. With the help of Don at Meredith Offices supplies we have been able to give the office workstation lay out a complete overhaul. The new layout makes best use of the 5,500sqft office area and provides a great working environment, this alongside the decoration of walls within the corporate colour scheme provides a truly professional image to match the service we provide our customers.

SMILE! IT'S FOR CHARITY!

SOME might say that a leisurely Golf Day near the sea side on a beautiful spring day might be a way of bunking off work, but for The One Point's Managing Director, Martin Lauer, it's an opportunity to, once again, help raise fund's for the KCFM Smile Foundation.

After performing in Devil's Kitchen, another fund-raising event from the Smile Foundation during April, The One Point are supporting the Smile Foundation's Golf Day through sponsorship of the first hole.
