We Need The Big Screen
Hull City Council have pulled the plug on Hull's Big Screen. Such a shame. I am sure in an economic climate where budgets are being slashed, with even more forecasted, the Council feel that this is frugal.
However, I cannot help but feel that this puts our City once again at the bottom of another league table - the Digital Communications League Table.
For a Top 10 City to not have the facility I feel is wrong. I think of watching the Graduation Days, of Obama getting sworn in, Look North, the football, the rugby even.
Crikey! We need this - the world cup is coming. The Clipper and Freedom Festival was such a great event - and Hull City Council dug deep for that and showed us what it was made of.
I have written to the Council today asking if there is anything we can do as a Digital Community, or a Business Community - I will keep you posted! M.
