Hull Broadband, Hull's first real Karoo alternative and part of The One Point Group, have sponsored the first ever Hull Digital live!
The event, held at the KC Stadium, was Hull's first digital conference. Stalwarts from the digital industry were speaking to a sell out crowd of digitally minded stakeholders.
Rory Cellan-Jones, BBC's Technology Consultant and writer of Dot.Bomb opened up the historic event.

The One Point have agreed to sponsor the brand new Sporting Heroes and Champions Awards 2009. The 'Professional Player in the Community' award will be sponsored by The One Point. Martin Lauer, Managing Director said "As a company we are heavily involved in local sports and the individual clubs. The performance of the players on the pitch is covered extensively in the press and media, but often their great community work is not - that is why we have chosen to sponsor this award."

The innovative TV channel developed for Hull FC by The One Point has secured its future for the 2010 season. A new contract has been agreed to ensure that all home, away and cup matches will be covered by The One Point's film and web team and broadcast over the TV platform for fans to watch around the globe to see.

The controversial CAT ZERO project got a help in hand in the way of sponsorship from The One Point. The IT division of The One Point have completed an IT installation at the CAT ZERO training centre and have pledged to maintain and support the systems in to the future as part of a sponsorhip package that will help youngsters that are not in employment or training to turn their lives around. Mark Henderson, IT Manager, said "It is great to see the new facilities open with only the help of local companies. Over 30 companies have added their products and services in for free in support of the initiative."

The first non-Kcom residential broadband service is being connected in Hull today. Jonathan Gibbins, IT Manager of The One Point, will be the first person in the city not to have to rely on Kcom's hardware or technology for his Internet connection. Mr Gibbins will also be able to use the service to make telephone calls.

The One Point media and film team put Chef Anthony Worrall-Thompson on Hull's Big Screen in September. The TOP media team were on hand all weekend to ensure that people visiting this year's Global Food Fest got the best seats in the house and could see exactly how the celebrity Chef created his famous dishes.
A live camera crew were feeding live images via on-location mixing desk and pushing the tasty images directly on to the big screen. This alongside a variety of other great cooks and presenters ensured for a great show.

The One Point Group have become Media and Communications Partners of the KCFM Smile Foundation. As part of the sponsorship agreement The One Point will be giving the KCFM Smile Foundation charities, The House Of Light and Down Right Special, free IT and Communication services.
